The Czech Republic

The Czech Republic is a land locked country and a member state of the European Union and Schengen in central Europe. It is bordered by Germany and Poland to the north, by Slovakia to the east, by Austria to the south, and by Germany to the west. In 1993, Czechoslovakia was divided into two countries; the Czech Republic and Slovakia.

The Czech Republic consists of two historical regions; Bohemia to the west, and Moravia to the east. Due to its strategic location, it has been invaded and occupied many times and has had many civilizations. The Czech Republic is a developed industrial and agricultural country with a developed tourist industry. The area of the Czech Republic is about 79000 Km2 with a population of approximately 10000000 people.  The Czech Republic has a temperate continental climate, with warm summers and cold, cloudy and snowy winters. The temperature difference between summer and winter is relatively high, due to the landlocked geographical position. The coldest month is January with average temperature of -5 C, and the hottest month is July with average temperature of 25 C.
